Bratislava Mead & Honey Tasting Itinerary

You will meet the local producer at the Apimed Honey Shop, just a few steps from the Opera House. The shopkeeper will guide you through a curated honey and mead tasting, sharing the stories behind each product.

You will taste 4 samples of fine local honey: creamed honey, honey with bee pollen, honey with propolis, and honey with cinnamon. Each variety has a distinct texture and flavour — from the silky smoothness of creamed honey to the warm spice of cinnamon honey.

After the honey flight, you will taste two samples of Trnava Mead — a Slovakian specialty and alcoholic beverage with 10–14% alcohol content. This mead is made from selected Slovak flower honey, finely tuned with herbs and spices. It is historically the first mead in the world to win gold medals at both Apimondia and the Mazer Cup, the world’s largest competitions. Slovaks enjoy it chilled to 12–16°C in summer and warmed to 55–60°C in winter.

At the end of the tasting, each guest receives a stylish honey souvenir pack to take home:
