In outskirts of Bratislava it is located a cozy region of Small Carpathian Wine Road, which starts in Bratislava’s east district Raca and ends in city of Trnava, which is also well known like a Little Rome of Slovakia, or Slovakian Rome. The duration of these exclusive half day Small Carpathian Wine Tour is 6 hours and we provide tour in two modifications, as a group tour and as a private tour.
Meeting with the guide
For this tour we provide a free pick up, so our licensed experienced guide will meet you at lobby of your hotel in Bratislava, or at address of your apartment in Bratislava. The guide will wait you with sign Bratislava City Tours, so you will not have a problem to recognize him.
Departure to Red Stone Castle
After the pick up you will depart with your driver- guide, in case of more than 3 people with guide and the driver to beautiful Small Carpathian Wine Road. Small Carpathian Wine Road is one of the total eight wine growing regions of Slovakia, most of them are located in South of Slovakia. Small Carpathian Wine Road is together with Slovakian part of Tokaj Region the most well know. The guide on the road will tell you a history of wine production in Slovakia, you will hear legends about the wine, you will learn which wine was the most favourite of Maria Theresa and many more. The journey to beautiful Red Stone Castle will take about 1 hour.
Red Stone Castle
It is one of the most romantic castles of Slovakia, located in a pure nature of Small Carpathians. The castle boast with the biggest cellars in Central Europe. The entrance to the castle it is not in price included, it is up to you whether you decide to admire the castle just from outside or you will buy an entrance. The entrance cost 6 EUR per person and visit takes about 1 hour. The castle is well furnished also from inside and definitely worth of visit. After the visit it is possible to refresh yourself in beautiful castle cafeteria offering delicious coffee & cakes.
Modra
After the visit of Red Stone Castle, we will be heading to splendid small wine town Modra, well known as a birth place of Slovak national hero Ludovit Stur, who fought for an autonomy of Slovakia within Austro – Hungarian Empire as well as for the magnificent local pottery Majolika. Visit of Majolika shop with possibility to buy the souvenirs.
Pezinok
The last but one stop will be in a capital of Slovakian wine production Pezinok. We will visit from outside the city castle, now the luxurious Palace Art Hotel Pezinok. Stroll along the beautiful small historical city center full of wine cellars and small shops with Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord also called “Lower Church” at Town’s Square. Continue to last stop in Svaty Jur.
Wine Tasting in Svaty Jur
The main highlight of this tour is wine tasting in beautiful village of Svaty Jur. You will taste 3 samples of local fine wine from local producers with explanation of sommelier. The wine shop boast by fact that all the offered wines are produced by the ecological way, without adding any chemicals or sulphides. After the wine tasting in cozy ambience of the small wine shop transfer back to Bratislava and about 06:00 pm arrival at your address in Bratislava.
